The interaction between light and molecules and how a chemist can use this interaction for useful applications. Eg. mimicking plant photosynthesis to make energy from the sun, or detecting and treating diseases such as cancer.

The Foundation Lecture follows the AOUG Faculty Research Award Ceremony that commences at noon, followed by a buffet lunch and tickets admit attendees to all, or any part, of the day.
