Welcome to AOUG in Ireland (12)
Following on from two years as Executive Representative for Ireland I have now been co-opted for a further year to represent Nation 12. During the period events have been organised across the Nation so that all members could feel that there was something they could access. However, it’s difficult to accommodate broad interests and accessibility needs. I am now carrying out a survey to more specifically identify interests, how far people would travel and how to involve people locally so that small groups could be developed.
We no longer have a Dublin Contact so presently this leaves a gap where I would welcome volunteers. Sean O’Broin had been involved for many years both as an Executive Representative and Local Contact. His support has been invaluable over time and he is wished the very best in his present academic studies. Also unfortunately we have recently received the sad news that John Ringland, our Local Contact for Belfast has died and thus we no longer have a contact for that area either.
Our Local Contact, Vicky Gilfillan is always open to suggestions for events in the North-West area.
Please see Diary Pages for upcoming events where you would be welcome to join us. Any member along with family or friends can enjoy these opportunities to meet up with other graduates, share stories about their experience of Open University studies, and visit new places to explore the history and culture of our Nation.
