Welcome to AOUG in Scotland (11)
Welcome | Newsletter | Diary Dates | Memory Lane
Since your last Executive Representative, Ruth Allen, resigned before last Christmas, I have been acting in this capacity.
There is at present an active group based around Edinburgh which meets regularly and organises various events, but with in excess of 330 AOUG members in the Nation it is hoped that more groups can be encouraged. If any member would be willing to act as a Local Contact and arrange a local event, please let me know so that it can be advertised both in OMEGA and in any local Newsletter. It would be wonderful to re-establish both the Aberdeen and the Glasgow groups and maybe to get several more to connect other areas.
It was agreed at a recent Executive Committee meeting that AOUG should endeavour to produce three local Newsletters each year, between issues of OMEGA and so you should all have received your first of these revived Newsletters. If you didn`t received one or have received yours by post and have a current e-mail address, please contact the AOUG Office aoug@open.ac.uk to update your details. These Newsletters are expected to reflect the interests and activities of the local members so if you have an contributions suitable for the Summer edition, please let me know and I will do my best to arrange to include it.
However our most important task is to find a Scottish member who feels that they may be able to undertake the role of Executive Representative. If that is you, or you know someone suitable, please let me know and I can supply you with more details of what the worthwhile job entails.
Acting Executive Representative - Ramsey Hertzog (AOUG Chairman)
