2019 Diary Dates

Saturday 17th August. 11am
Meet at the Y Gegin CafĂ© near the main entrance of St Fagins Open Air Museum, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF10 3NP. St Fagins chronicles the historical lifestyle, culture, and architecture of the Welsh people and has recently been updated with several eating facilities around the site. Although this is ‘open air’ there are many opportunities to go into and explore buildings and so it is still suitable even if it were to be inclement weather. Entry is free.

Sunday 3rd November. 12.30pm
Meet at ‘The Potted Pig’, 27, High Street, Cardiff CF10 1PU close to the Castle for a lunch at 1pm. The restaurant is housed in a former bank vault beneath the city. Having opened in 2011 the restaurant claims to serve a varied menu of British food with Welsh, French and New-York grill inspired influences. They have a passion for modern British food and wonderful gins with an ever changing menu from seasonal food to the ‘odd whole suckling pig’. Please advise the organiser by 18th October so that numbers can be finalised.

Saturday 18th January 2020. 12.30pm
Meet at the ‘Twenty 2’ restaurant, 22, City Walls, Chester CH1 1RL for a New Year lunch at 1pm. The venue is approximately a twenty minute walk from the railway station. Public transport is also available. ‘Twenty 2’, formerly Edgar House, dates back to the late 1700s built atop of the city walls overlooking the River Dee. The family drawing room has now become the restaurant’s dining room. The house had been extended several times being used as a convalescing home for soldiers in World War II before being converted back into a family home. The current owners bought it in 2010 and renovated it into a luxury boutique hotel and independent restaurant. Please advise the Event Organiser by 10th January so that final numbers can be confirmed.
