Welcome to AOUG in Wales (10)

Welcome | Newsletter | Diary Dates | Memory Lane

Welcome to Wales.

The AOUG splits up the United Kingdom geographically into Nations and Regions, and Wales is one of the three Nations – the others obviously being Scotland 11 and Ireland 12. Everyone else is in a Region.

Wherever you live in Wales, this is your local AOUG website. Please feel free to send me any content you would like to see on here and I will arrange for it to appear under one of the categories of Newsletter, Diary Dates and Memory Lane.

Wales is a large geographical area, and its constituent parts are divided by mountains, rivers, valleys, roads and occasionally language. What is more important than what divides us, is what joins us – things like rugby, singing, poetry, literature, drama, determination, goodwill, friendliness, comradeship, an interest in our surroundings and other people – in fact everything that the AOUG stands for (well, perhaps AOUG doesn’t exactly stand for rugby, I made that bit up).

Although we are a large geographic area, we have a small membership of about 100 graduates across Wales, and some of our membership are elderly or infirm. So an interest in our surroundings and other people is especially important as an AOUG member in Wales. If you want to organise an event locally, please be sure that everyone knows about it and has the opportunity to attend by letting me know and I will ensure it appears on the Diary pages.

We have a few dates in the Diary, and if you would like to come along to these events, please let me know.
Do you have any pictures for Memory Lane?  Send them to me so they can appear here.

Would anyone like to volunteer to translate these pages into Welsh for me?
