Welcome to AOUG in Yorkshire (07)
Welcome | Newsletter | Diary Dates
2010 is my final year as Executive Representative and I will be handing over to a new Representative in June at the AGM in Taunton.
It has been an interesting, and sometimes, I must say, frustrating 3 years as I got to grips with the job and got to know the format for meetings and reports etc. My most successful event was the one I arranged in York in June 2008 when we had the best attendance for a Saturday meeting to hear Tom Willis give a most interesting talk about "Ghoulies and Ghosties and things that go bump in the night..." Also, at the Yorkshire AGM following that meeting, we gained two new members of the Committee and a volunteer to organise the sending out of our Newsletter by email.
The Civic Receptions have been enjoyable as have the Ten Pin Bowling Matches. There have been so many good events – culminating in October at our Celebration Dinner at Merchant Taylor's Hall in York. Sometimes we have wished for a better attendance but those who have attended were glad they did and were happy to be there. All in all I feel I have got to know the Yorkshire Region and seen how things are done.
You will see from the Diary Dates that further events are planned in the Region for 2010. I look forward to meeting people at the AGM in Taunton in June.
Maureen Bowman - Executive Representative
