OMEGA is the magazine published three times each year for AOUG members. It contains academic articles, members’ contributions and activities as well as news from our University. Together with the Website, and regular editions of Local Newsletters, OMEGA is the way in which we communicate with our membership. It is distributed, by post, to all current AOUG members as part of the membership package and also to senior members of The Open University and all Open University Departments. An email version is also available.
The current Summer 2021 edition features an article on Voices of children and young people aged 3 – 13 expressed during the pandemic, based on research at The Open University. It also includes Home on the Rails by Amanda Stevens, recipient of the 2020 AOUG Chancellor Lord Asa Briggs Award for Arts,
It is time to do better by Petra Vackova, recipient of the 2020 AOUG Vice-Chancellor Lord Perry of Walton Award for Social Sciences, and The Guitar in Victorian Britain by Sarah Clarke, recipient of the 2020 AOUG Will Swann Award for Innovation and Knowledge Development.
Our member’s contributions demonstrate a variety of interests from an online OU Alumni event, a walk in Bloomsbury London, and an article written by an Irish member about a course linking reconciliation and Irish participation in the First World War.
