Lowestoft Maritime Museum – 06

June 6 @ 11:00 am

Meet at Martello’s café in Sparrow’s Nest Park for coffee before moving on at noon to Lowestoft Maritime Museum, Sparrow’s Nest Gardens, Whapload Road, Lowestoft, NR32 1XG, for a tour kindly arranged by our member Colin Butler, who is a member of and volunteer at the museum, which is focused mainly on the history of the fishing industry but has many other exhibits. There will be a small admission fee, with senior concession rate.  Next, we will go for lunch at a nearby cafe or restaurant and, if we have time, walk via the sea wall to Ness Point, the most easterly point of the British Isles. There is a free car park opposite the museum; traffic directions can be provided if required. Members arriving by rail can request transport from the station – please notify if this is required. There is wheelchair access and a disabled toilet at the museum.
