Next to the train station is the Victoria Car Park with a vehicle recognition machine on entry and for those with limited mobility the No 36 red/black double-decker bus Leeds to Ripon can be caught at the bus station\, alighting at the Royal Hall stop\, then a short walk to the Gallery.

The Harris reopened in September 2025 after a £19 million transformation. This Grade I- listed building now houses free exhibitions\, a library woven throughout the galleries\, and the Wallace and Gromit exhibition celebrating Preston-born animator Nick Park. The Harris sits on Market Square in the city centre\, about a ten-minute walk from Preston railway station. Turn right onto Fishergate from the station\, walk straight until you reach Boots\, then turn left onto Market Square.
