Welcome to Nation 10 – Wales
Nation 10 – Wales – covers the whole country, from the Bristol Channel in the South to the Menai Straight in the North. Due to the difficult travelling with both public transport and driving routes restricted by the geographical features, the area tends to need to split North and South for any activities organised but this does not mean that there are any restrictions based on where you live. You are free to attend any events, not only in the whole of Wales, but also throughout England, Scotland or Ireland if you are able to get there.
Plus during and following the pandemic, some areas have organised Zoom meetings and these have enabled connections and communications to continue. So even if the virtual meeting is being organised as far away as the North Region, or over in the East Midlands, you are very welcome to join in. Just get in touch with the organiser for the joining details.
If you are interested in becoming the Executive Representative or maybe a Local Contact, please contact info@aoug.org.uk or if you have any ideas for activities, please contact:
Development Officer, Lesley Sleigh – lesley.sleigh@aoug.org.uk

Tregedar House
The South of Wales members visited Tregedar House near Newport and were blessed with glorious sunshine to be able to explore. This National Trust property, once the family home of the Morgan family, has an extensive garden – formal close to the house, gradually becoming more and more natural as it expands out to the parkland. The elegant orangery had been a sign of the family’s wealth and has now been restored.

Bodnant Gardens Again
Bodnant Gardens have now become a tradition for an annual visit in the North of Wales. However we try to gop at different times each year and this time we were able to catch the end of the laburnam which flowers all down an arched walkway. Some of the brightness may have gone but the long garlands of flowers were still magnificant. We were extremely lucky with the weather on this visit and thus feeling more energectic, we managed to get down to the dell by the river at the very bottom if the garden. Quite easy going down, but a few rests for breathe were needed on the way back.
