Saturday 16th August. 11am (Rearranged from 26th July)                                                                   Meet in the car park café at Bodnant Gardens for a coffee before our annual visit to explore the gardens. The organiser will have a copy of OMEGA on the table. Then after a couple of hours discovering which plants are at their best, you can either return to the café for lunch, or if the weather is suitable, eat your own picnic in the glorious surroundings. Return to discover the variety of craftwork in the small shops or select a plant to buy to take back home.

This museum depicts Yeomanry history from 1794 to 1956. This is a free event but donations are welcomed. Contact the Executive Representative for reservations.

Chesters Museum – 09 – Chollerford

Entry is £10, but free to English Heritage members. If time allows, we may end the day at The George for relaxing refreshments.

Meet in the café of Patchings Art Centre, Oxton Road, Calverton, NG14 6NU, before exploring the galleries, following the artists’ trail and walking through the fifty acre site which incorporates woodland, a lake and ‘Monet’ bridge.

                                                                                                                  Meet in Ginger’s Ice Cream Parlour café, 80, Hallgate, Howden, near Goole, DN14 7ST before visiting Howden Minster, High Bridge, Howden, near Goole, DN14 7BS.  South Howden Railway station is nearby – less than a ten-minute walk to either the café or the Minster. Entry to both the Minster and its ruins is free. Those with cars might like to take a twenty-five-minute drive to Cawood Castle ruin, a previously suggested place to visit, before returning home.
