Professor Josie Fraser was appointed to the role on Interim Vice-Chancellor in October 2024. She had previously served on senior academic leadership teams within The Open University since 2017. Having trained as a neuroscientist, she has worked together with professionals from pharmaceutical, medical and academia. She has been invovled in a variety of medical research from integrating behavioural, cognitive, neurosurgical, pharmaceutical and brain scanning techniques. She is committed to the OU mission and now is a strong advocate for equality, diversity and inclusionwithin the university and beyond.
