Members’ Interest Groups
Below are links to a selection of groups based around Members’ Interests and Hobbies. All members are invited to participate in any of the groups by sending your contributions to info@aoug.org.uk including your name, PI number and your Region or Nation and entitling your email as ‘Website – Members’ Interests’ and the name of the group to which you wish it to be uploaded.
Please note that:
- The opinions expressed within these Interest Groups are those of the members concerned, and not necessarily those held by AOUG.
- AOUG takes no responsibility for the checking of any ‘factual content’ expressed by members.
- All items must be original pieces written by the member.
- No AI assisted items, or copyrighted items may be included.
- All items will require a related image.
- All images must either be taken by the member, or include the originator’s permission, so that full attribution can be made.
- No images of children may be used without the written permission of their legal guardian.
- AOUG does not permit any commercial advertising of any product or service in these pages.
- AOUG reserve the right to make the final decisions concerning any uploads to this website.

Book Reviews
Are you a non-fiction reader? If so here is the place to give a review of a recently read book. Summarise the plot, describe the characters or anaylise the style – the choice is yours.
Artists
Why do you like a particular artist or an individual painting? Tell others about the artist as a person, their style of work or discuss the composition or technique of single painting
Photo Themes
Take a look at your own photos and choose a theme to show others and discuss your choice. – Pets – Wild life – Gardens – Castles – Seasons – Weather – Portraits etc.
Creative Writing
Are you inspired to let your imagination flow through your keyboard or to put pen to paper. Send in your poems, short stories or descriptive pieces for others to enjoy.
Theatre
Tell others about any recent trips to the theatre. Where did you go? What did you see? Give a brief summary of the plot, the scenery, the actors or any aspect that you particularly enjoyed.
Films
Do you enjoy watrching films either at the cinema or in the comfort of your own home? What genre do you prefer? Pick any film you have seen recently and tell us what you enjoyed about it.
Sport
Whether you play a sport or prefer to watch others, this is the page for you. What draws you to your chosen sport or what memories do you have?
Craftwork
For members who like making things. Explain how you made any item, in any medium so that others might be able to have a go themselves.
Cookery
For members who likes any form of cooking. Post your favourite recipes or show your successes, or even your failures, when trying new things.
History of ..
For collectors or anyone with a nostalgic interest in a object, place or person. Here you can tell others about the history of anything of significance to you.
Travel
Tell everyone about a travel destination, whether the place is just a mile away, or the other side of the World. Or recount an eventful journey.
Fantasy
Are you fascinated by dragons, wizards, hobbits or any myths and legends? Tell others about the magical attraction of these fantasy beings.
