Meet at the Bay Tree cafe, 12, Bridge Gate, Hebden Bridge, HX7 8EU for coffee prior to a boat trip along the Rochdale Canal, including Cream Tea (£20 for adult, £10 for child), from Stubbing Wharf. Pre-booking with a deposit is essential to the West Yorkshire Local Contact immediately.
Saturday 9th May. 11am Meet in the Courtyard Café at Harewood House, Harrogate Road, Harewood, Leeds, LS17 9LQ before spending as long as you fancy exploring the house and strolling around the gardens. There are a variety of ticket options to consider so it is advisable to check the website well in advance. Car drivers are advised to buy online tickets. However, bus travellers can get a 50% reduction on their entry ticket (but only if you pay on the day) and we can arrange to give you a lift along the long drive if you phone to advise your time of arrival. Please be aware that Harewood House is a ‘cashless’ venue.
Saturday 13th June. 10.30am Meet in the café of the York Explore Library for coffee before the AOUG in Yorkshire AGM meeting, which will be followed by a short talk by a speaker. Details nearer the time. There are refreshment facilities available for both coffee and lunch within the building. Please note the AGM will start promptly at 11am.
Saturday 11th July. 11am Meet in Clifford Tearooms at Skipton Castle, The Bailey, Skipton, BD23 1AW. Tickets can be pre-booked online as can car parking. There is a self-guided tour which the website states will take approximately one and a half hours. Please note that this is ‘cashless’ site.
Saturday 15th August. 11am Meet at Upper Crust, Unit 14, on the main concourse of Leeds Railway Station, New Station Street, Leeds LS1 6AL ready to join fellow members on a Canal Trail. We will end up at the Leeds Armouries for lunch before getting the Water Taxi back to the station. Light-hearted quiz sheets will be provided to draw your attention to interesting features along the canal and prizes will be presented at lunchtime.
Friday 11th September. 11am Meet inside the entrance of Sheffield Manor Lodge, 197, Manor Lane, Sheffield S2 1UH to be taken for pre-booked coffee prior to a guided tour, followed by a pre-booked light lunch. Booking with the event organiser is essential by 7th August.
