Thursday 30th April. 11am Meet for coffee at River Café, 5, High Street, Bedford, MK40 1RN before visiting the John Bunyan Museum which is a short distance away (Mill Street, Bedford, MK40 3EU). The museum celebrates the life of the author of The Pilgrim’s Progress and is a free museum.
Thursday 30th April. 11am Meet online with other Welsh members to chat about anything of mutual interest. Another chance to reconnect with local members that you don’t often get to see face-to-face. Saturday 9th May. 11am Meet in the Courtyard Café at Harewood House, Harrogate Road, Harewood, Leeds, LS17 9LQ before spending as long as you fancy exploring the house and strolling around the gardens. There are a variety of ticket options to consider so it is advisable to check the website well in advance. Car drivers are advised to buy online tickets. However, bus travellers can get a 50% reduction on their entry ticket (but only if you pay on the day) and we can arrange to give you a lift along the long drive if you phone to advise your time of arrival. Please be aware that Harewood House is a ‘cashless’ venue.

Saturday 16th May. 11am. Meet in the Refectory Café of Southwell Minster, Church Street, Southwell, NG25 0HD, before taking a self-guided tour of the historic Minster and the world famous ‘Leaves of Southwell’ in the Chapter House. It will also be possible to wander through the adjacent gardens and ruins of the Bishops Palace. Admission to the Minster is free, but they ask for voluntary donations. (Just along the road is The Saracens Head hotel where King Charles I spent his last night of freedom before surrendering to the Scottish army at Kelham. For those who wish there is a trail from the town centre to the Workhouse or just enjoy browsing the local shops.)
Saturday 16th May. 12noon Rearranged date from postponed March event Meet in the castle courtyard café of Chirk Castle, Castle Drive, Wrexham, LL14 5AF for a coffee or early lunch before exploring the castle and grounds. The castle is a National Trust property and so free entry to members. The normal adult entrance fee is £11 but there is free parking. The change of date now allows an opportunity to enjoy the extensive gardens too if you wish.
Saturday 23rd May. 11am Meet at the Café 1092 in Chester Cathedral before a walk around Chester followed by taking lunch in the main town. A sightseeing bus ‘Hop on and Hop off’ tour could then be enjoyed.
