Lowestoft Maritime Museum Sparrow Nest Gardens, Whapload Road, Lowestoft

Meet at Martello’s café in Sparrow’s Nest Park for coffee before moving on at noon to Lowestoft Maritime Museum, Sparrow's Nest Gardens, Whapload Road, Lowestoft, NR32 1XG, for a tour kindly arranged by our member Colin Butler, who is a member of and volunteer at the museum, which is focused mainly on the history of the fishing industry but has many other exhibits. There will be a small admission fee, with senior concession rate.  Next, we will go for lunch at a nearby cafe or restaurant and, if we have time, walk via the sea wall to Ness Point, the most easterly point of the British Isles. There is a free car park opposite the museum; traffic directions can be provided if required. Members arriving by rail can request transport from the station – please notify if this is required. There is wheelchair access and a disabled toilet at the museum.
