Saturday 22nd March. 11am Meet in the café at the Visitor’s Centre at the Electric Mountain, Llanberis Road (A4086), next to Lake Padarn, Caernarfon LL55 4UR for a coffee before embarking on a tour underground. The organiser, Jean Hertzog, will have a copy of OMEGA on the table. Then following lunch, you can look further at the Visitor’s Centre, or some may wish to go a short distance up the road to take a trip on the Snowdon Mountain Railway.

Saturday 29th March.  11am                                                                                                                            Meet in the café at the Walker Art Gallery, William Brown Street, Liverpool, L3 8EL. This Gallery has one of the most important and renowned painting collections in the UK. The collection includes European Renaissance paintings, masterpieces by Rubens, Rembrandt, Turner and Stubbs, Pre-Raphaelite artworks by Rossetti and Millais, Impressionist works by Monet and Degas. The Walker is close to the entrance to the Queensway Tunnel. There is pay and display parking outside the gallery on William Brown Street and behind World Museum on Hunter Street. The nearest other car park is at Queen Square.

Museum of Norwich – 06

Thursday 10th April 2025 at 2pm Meet at the Museum of Norwich, Bridewell, Bridewell Alley, Norwich (NR2 1AQ). The Museum covers the history of Norwich and its industrial background.  In 1700 Norwich was England’s second city and the museum covers both the city and the area of Bridewell in its exhibitions. Admission is £7.80 (2024 prices).  For those that wish to meet for an early lunch before the Museum we will meet at one of the Wetherspoons in Norwich city centre (venue to be confirmed).

Inklings Tour of Oxford – 02

Thursday 24th April. 12 noon                                                                                                                      Meet at Nero’s at Gloucester Green Bus Station, Oxford, OX1 2BU. There will be a homemade Inklings tour of Oxford City, and we will end up in the ‘Eagle and Child’ Pub for lunch. The Inklings were a set of Oxford Dons who initially read the manuscripts of their books to each other before publishing them. Most famous members included JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis.

Salts Mill World Heritage Centre – 07

Saturday 26th April. 11am Meet at Salts Mill café which is on the 2nd floor of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre of Salts Mill, Victoria Road, Bradford BD18 3LA. The organiser Janet Parker will be there to meet you with a copy of OMEGA on the table. This former textile mill contains shops, dining facilities and four art galleries which contain over four hundred works by David Hockney. It is both free to visit and to park. The car park is at the rear of the mill with a postcode of BD98 8AA and there is close public transport access. Should you wish, there is the additional option to visit the United Reformed Church, in Roberts Park, close to the River Aire and Leeds/Liverpool canal tow path or take a guided tour of this iconic town.
